Welcome to Gîte des Oiseaux, the largest holiday rental at Source Poétique.

Source Poétique is an old family property made up of a house, a tree-filled garden and three holiday accommodations: Gîte des Oiseaux, Gîte Ouest and Gîte Est. The house has been divided into three separate living spaces, each designed to offer privacy, autonomy and its own outdoor area.

Located in the heart of the thermal district of Bourbon-Lancy, in Saône-et-Loire, Source Poétique is a quiet, green and peaceful place, ideal for spa stays, restful breaks and travellers who love old houses with soul.

Here, we do not offer a standardised hotel-style experience, but an old family home, simple, warm and full of character, gradually renovated with an eco-conscious approach. The place deliberately keeps its imperfect charm: vintage furniture, visible signs of use, simple materials, an old gate, ageing exterior paintwork and the atmosphere of a lived-in family house.

Gîte des Oiseaux is especially suited to travellers who appreciate old stone houses, calm surroundings, space, vintage objects, simplicity and authentic places. It may be less suitable for guests looking for a brand-new, perfectly polished accommodation or a hotel-style experience.

The Gîte des Oiseaux

With its 64 m², Gîte des Oiseaux is the largest accommodation on the property. Located on the upper part of the house, it overlooks the other gîtes and offers, from its balcony, a lovely view over the thermal district and the green surroundings of Bourbon-Lancy.

The accommodation is bright, calm and autonomous. It has its own access to the living space and allows guests to enjoy an independent stay, whether for a thermal cure, a wellbeing break or a few days of rest.

Outdoor spaces

Gîte des Oiseaux offers a pleasant outdoor area, including:

private parking at the top, in front of the gate;

furnished terrace with garden table;

barbecue;

sun loungers;

small garden area;

balcony with a view over the thermal district.

Please note: the property is old and built on a slope. Parking is located at the top, in front of the gate. The slope is not suitable for vehicles and must be used on foot only. Below, an outdoor table area allows guests to enjoy the garden in a quiet and bucolic setting.

The outdoor table area rests on a small lime, sand and stone terrace, created to provide a stable and comfortable space while respecting the old and natural spirit of the property.

Interior

The entrance, equipped with a storage cupboard, leads directly to the different areas of the gîte: the kitchen, bathroom, separate toilet, south-west bedroom and large living room. From the living room, there is access to the balcony and to the second bedroom.

The interior focuses on space, simplicity and autonomy. Much of the furniture is vintage, second-hand or reclaimed, in an anti-waste approach, but also with the intention of preserving old French furniture, sometimes handmade or artisanal. Some visible signs of use are part of the story of the place, its imperfect charm and its family-home spirit, without affecting the care given to cleaning or to welcoming guests.

Kitchen

The kitchen is functional and equipped for short or medium-length stays.

It includes:

dishwasher;

washing machine;

crockery and basic equipment for an autonomous stay;

cooking utensils;

storage space;

simple equipment for preparing meals on site.

Bathroom

The bathroom includes:

large bathtub;

large vanity unit;

hairdryer;

laundry basket;

drying rack;

fan heater for occasional use.

The house does not have a conventional central heating system. The main heating system is a new wood-burning stove, sized for the accommodation, complemented by a ceiling fan that helps distribute warm air when needed.

South-west bedroom

The south-west bedroom is bright and gives access to the balcony.

It includes:

double bed, 140 cm;

recent bedding;

chest of drawers;

wardrobe space;

balcony access.

Living room

The living room is a large, warm and welcoming space, designed for meals, reading, music and moments of rest.

It includes:

wood-burning stove;

ceiling fan with summer mode and warm-air distribution mode;

upright piano;

large dining table for 6 guests;

large comfortable sofa;

coffee table;

armchairs;

access to the balcony.

The wood-burning stove is new, functional and sized for the house. It reflects our choice of a more sober and ecological heating system.

North-east bedroom

The second bedroom offers a lovely countryside view.

It includes:

trundle bed, 80 cm x 2;

chest of drawers / dressing table;

calm and bright atmosphere.

Source Poétique is a family property divided into three holiday accommodations, located in the heart of the thermal district of Bourbon-Lancy.

Our wish is to offer a simple, calm and welcoming place, suited to thermal stays, restful breaks and travellers looking for more than standard accommodation: a place with atmosphere, history and genuine attention to the environment.

Our approach is based on:

sober and responsible use of resources;

vintage and reclaimed furniture;

gradual renovation;

a garden maintained without chemical products;

waste sorting and composting;

useful services included, such as household linen and cleaning;

intentionally reasonable rates considering the space offered.

Source Poétique is a place designed to help you slow down and take care of yourself, simply.

Good to know before booking

Gîte des Oiseaux is an old house, with both its qualities and its imperfections. You will find space, calm, a pleasant view, a family-home atmosphere and a sincere ecological approach.

You will also find visible signs of use, old features, simple finishes, an old gate and ageing exterior paintwork. We prefer to be transparent: this place is intended for travellers who enjoy authenticity, lived-in homes and the charm of imperfect places.

If you are looking for brand-new accommodation, a highly standardised property or a hotel-style experience, this gîte may not be the best fit.
